Hello there,

Thank you for previously signing and supporting my save Bristol Zoo petition. I’m writing to you now for three reasons:

  1. To invite you to a PUBLIC DEMONSTRATION (details below) to protest against Bristol Zoological Society’s intention to sell Bristol Zoo Gardens to Acorn Property Group, a housing developer that is currently listed on the Financial Conduct Authority website with a warning that says: ‘You should avoid dealing with this firm and beware of scams.’
  2. To let you know that today, the new Save Bristol Zoo Gardens website has gone live. It showcases several year’s work and an unprecedented amount of research, with data mostly taken from Bristol Zoological Society’s own accounts.
  3. The publication of a fully costed vision for a reimagined Bristol Zoo Gardens which has been developed and supported by industry experts and many former Bristol Zoo staff. I have taken out an open letter in Bristol 24/7 entitled, ‘Dear Bristol: We Are Witnessing a Scandal in Plain Sight.’

PUBLIC DEMONSTRATION DETAILS

Where: Acorn’s Bristol Office - 50 Clifton Down Road, BS8 4AH
When: Wednesday 11th March, ie. TOMORROW - 12.30pm

What: Please bring a double-sided placard to express your protest.

Although Acorn Property Group does not yet own Bristol Zoo Gardens, there is ecological vandalism taking place at Bristol Zoo Gardens RIGHT NOW! See the title image.

Beyond Joining Tomorrow’s Demonstration, What Else Can Be Done?

  • Please share this petition.
  • Please donate to help me continue campaigning on this issue on behalf of the many thousands of people who I know support this campaign.
  • Please visit the Save Bristol Zoo Gardens website, read my work, look at the vision for a reimagined Bristol Zoo and spread the word.
  • I ask any individual or organisation with a current association to Bristol Zoological Society, to read my evidence-based work and to subsequently re-evaluate their relationship with the Society, whilst the strategy to sell Bristol Zoo Gardens remains in place.
  • I appeal to wealthy individuals and organisations who have an interest in Bristol’s heritage and history who would like to see Bristol Zoo Gardens saved, to contribute to a significant donation for Bristol Zoological Society. This donation would be conditional on new leadership that retains and reopens a reimagined Bristol Zoo Gardens.

I hope to see you at the demonstration tomorrow!

Tom
