The Issue

Being that New Jersey is under a State of Emergency due to the global pandemic known as the Coronavirus (Covid-19) students and student organizations hereby advocate for the immediate end of semester and for students to be given passing grades. According to nj.com there are 742 cases and 9 deaths confirmed today March 19th. Governor Murphy has instilled a 9pm - 5am curfew and most business that are not considered crucial to life, groceries stores, hospitals, etc. are closed. These business vary from bars and barbershops to non-dire medical care such as dentist offices. Students and parents have been and will continue to be economically displaced due to the shutting down of most businesses. Students have been asked to transition to an online curriculum in the midst of a global pandemic as well as public uncertainty.  We are asking that New Jersey City University President and administration consider pardoning every student, leaving them free to care for and protect their families.
