We believe bringing BMX racing to Wilmington, NC would improve the community by offering a sport that prides itself on allowing everyone to compete.  BMX racing is a unique sport that allows everyone to race not only by age but also abilities.  So a new racer will not be racing against a seasoned pro.  Which allows the children to build confidence as well as skills.  

BMX racing is a individual sport where you are judged on your individual abilities but you can become a part of a team where you can build up sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendships.  

BMX is a very fun, family atmosphere where everyone can participate.  Children as young as 1 year old can race in the balance bike races and Children as old as 99 years old can ride in the BMX races.  Entire families can participate making it a unique sport that can involve everyone.  

How many times can you go to a sport that the entire family can participate in the same event during the same event? This unique sport combines key aspects that families are missing today: Exercise, Time together and time outside.  

BMX racing is a sport that allows individuals who may not succeed in team sports to excel. They can gain confidence, improve self-esteem and build character.  

Right now the closest BMX track is in Raleigh, NC.  Close to 2 hours away.  There are currently NO BMX tracks along the coast of NC or SC.  Building a BMX track in the Wilmington area would not only bring a unique sport to our area but it would also help improve tourism as many BMX racers vacation in areas near race tracks. This would give more people another reason to visit our amazing area. While continuing to provide our local community a sport they can participate in year round.
