Remove Linda Bir-Conn as an employee of the Henry County Animal Shelter.

The Issue

I am starting this petition in hopes of having Linda Bir-Conn removed as an employee, director to be exact, of the Henry County Animal Shelter. I anticipate that this petition will bring to light what goes on down at the animal shelter. Aware of the type of people that are being paid through tax payers money to be employeed to work with the animals of this shelter. In light of a review posted by a member of our local community on the New Castle Henry County Animal Shelters Facebook page, story after story about how rude, hateful, and belittling of people Linda and her staff really are, started pouring in. From her intentionally taking people's pets only to turn around and charge them with preposterous fines, being rude/condescending of others just for simply calling and asking a question, to her having people harassed, the stories were simply deplorable to say the least. It's clear to see that she should not hold a position working with the public. As well, something even more disturbing and unsettling is the fact that she has no compassion or empathy for animals. In the review that was mentioned, she told the girl that was reaching out for help about tiny kittens she had found, that she could "care less" about them. Not only could she "care less" about them, but she belittled the girl for trying to reach out for help. Now I don't know about you, but that makes me wonder why someone who could "care less" about an animal would be working as director of an animal shelter? With all this being said, I feel it's time for our community to stand together, take action, and make a change. With a large amount of the community expressing their dislike for Linda and the city paying around $85,000 a year and County paying around $50,000 a year to fund the shelter and it's employees, I feel we, as tax payers, have a say so about who is working with the animals of Henry County. Lets take a stand and make a change we wish to see in our community.
