New Brunswick: No quarantine for out of province family who test negative prior to entry

The Issue

COVID-19 has forced the province of New Brunswick to implement a 14 day quarantine order to out of province visitors.

Due to this order, residents of New Brunswick are also forced into quarantine with their visiting out of province family member.

I, living outside the province, visit the province regularly to help my mother and grandmother who are residents of the province. However, this year, I did not visit because I did not want to put my mother out of a job for 14 days. Moreover, I did not want to force my grandmother to stay at her long term care home for 14 days for her mental wellbeing. This prevents myself and many of my out of province family members from helping my immediate family members in NB. I know this affects the mental wellbeing hundreds, if not thousands, of Canadians who are not able to see their immediate family members during these difficult times.

With this petition, we are hoping to eliminate the 14 day quarantine period for immediate family visits with a certificate of proof of testing negative for COVID-19. We ask the Government of New Brunswick to please take action and help their residents affected in and out of province especially with the holidays quickly approaching.
