Friends, the animal shelter in King County is an outdated (1959) building converted to an animal shelter. There are a hodge podge of buildings housing animals. The animals have very small areas, poor heating and cooling, poor ventilation. The building is in need of repair and it no longer serves the animals, the staff and volunteers or our pet living community. 
Among the many needs of the building and pets there is a sewage leak which has caused the bathroom to be shut down and a port-a-potty for volunteers and staff to use. 
king County pets and animal living people deserve a state of the art crown jewel of a shelter. The current shelter is located near Amazon’s state of the art distribution center it just reflects poorly on our community and is no good for the animals!
