New Albany, Indiana outlawed any new chain link fences on private home properties. However the city and business owners are allowed to install chain link fences.  Private property owners must use plastic or wood fences that only have a 15-20 year life.  This is also an issue for pool and large dog owners, who do not have the monetary means every 15 years to replace fencing.
