Nevins Park, is a Northside Charlotte Community park with amenities featuring a protected nature preserve, nature walk, hiking trails, spray ground, 2 playgrounds, disc golf, a large baseball field and soccer fields. The one amenity missing from this community park is a Skatepark. A skatepark would be great for this area considering there are two being built and renovated on the East side of Charlotte, one on the Southwest side of Charlotte at Tyvola Rd., and One far West in neighboring Belmont. Considering the rise of popularity in Skateboarding(Now featured as an olympic sport)and many other wheel based activities, the Northside of Charlotte is undeserving future generations hoping to have a space to learn, grow, and flourish in the world of extreme sports.
