As a mom of three students this coming fall a Kindergartner, 6th grader and a Freshman. Returning to full-time education in the fall is imperative. Distance learning placed a hardship on many families in Lyon County. Many families have a two-income household and found it difficult to keep up with the demands from work as well as being teachers to our children. The emotional and mental health of our students needs to be our number one priority. 

In-person learning is the best method to ensure student learning per Wayne Workman the Lyon County Superintendent. "Frankly if I had it my way, we would reopen schools to in-person instruction for all students with no restrictions, but with increased precautions." he went on to say in his letter to parents "As an educational professional, I understand completely that full time, in-person education with highly qualified and caring staff using a personalized learning model that fosters meaningful relationships, is the optimal method to ensure student learning." 

I ask you to sign this petition for all Lyon County students to return to school with no restrictions this fall. Please spread the word. As parents, we need to be made part of the decision making for our children!
