Many of you know our shop dog, Gunner, and what a gentle giant he is. We are deeply concerned that Nevada County Animal Control is attempting to label him "Potentially Dangerous" as the result of a neighbor's complaint. This man claims he felt threatened, but even after punching Gunner and waving a stick at him, he incurred no injuries and Gunner never attempted to bite him.

This neighbor works as a mediator for the courts and Animal Control, yet he made no attempts to mediate the situation before involving Animal Control and pressing the court to take full action against Gunner - even requesting that Gunner be seized by Animal Control until this matter is resolved. He also refused our offer to meet Gunner to see for himself that he's not mean or dangerous.

If the court rules against Gunner, he will have not only have to be neutered but we will not be able to keep him as a result of the regulations placed on "Potentially Dangerous" dogs in this county. If you have met Gunner, we need your help to advocate that he is not "Potentially Dangerous" and might be one of the nicest, safest dogs there ever was.
