With your staunch support to my campaign for gender sensitive reporting, we were able to bring about change. The success of the campaign you helped realise was recognised and awarded at different platforms, including by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the Digital Empowerment Foundation.

This year I am taking forward the work we did last year towards increasing media accountability. I have started a petition asking the Editors Guild of India to issue guidelines asking the media to stop using the term 'love jihad'. You may already know that the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs has stated in the Lok Sabha, “The term ‘Love Jihad’ is not defined under the extant laws. No such case of ‘Love Jihad’ has been reported by any of the central agencies.”

Please sign my petition to join hands against misinformation and hate speech and to create higher standards of accurate, ethical and sensitive reporting.
