Petition To Continue Filming and to Support Snowdrop JTBC Drama
The Issue
Korean Netizens Wants To Cancel the drama even though JTBC Released the statements indicating that the storyline doesn't affect the History and Mocking the Korean culture. This Petition May Help to exceed and support the effort of the Actors and Actresses, Directors, Writers and Staffs who gave hundred percent of effort to this drama. I hope this Petition May help to air the Drama. This Petition aims to support and keep up the effort of this drama despite of the "Fake Accusations" and Controversies from the Korean Netizens. Thank You for your love and support as a whole.
The Statement from JTBC:
This is JTBC’s statement on the controversy surrounding the drama “Snowdrop.”
“Snowdrop” is not a drama that disparages the pro-democracy movement or glamorizes being a spy or working for the NSP.
“Snowdrop” is a black comedy that satirizes the presidential elections taking place in the 1980s under a military regime during the North-South tension on the Korean peninsula. It is also a melodrama about the young men and women who were victims of that situation.
We received all sorts of criticism after certain sentences were taken out of context from parts of an incomplete synopsis that were leaked online, but all of this was based on mere speculation.
In particular, accusations like “the drama will show a North Korean spy leading the pro-democracy movement” and “the drama made a real student activist into a character” and “the drama glamorizes the Agency of National Security Planning” are not only different from the drama’s actual content but also far from the production staff’s intention.
We firmly reiterate that the accusations going around about “Snowdrop” are unrelated to the drama’s actual content or the production’s staff’s intentions. We ask that you refrain from reckless speculation about a drama that has not even been revealed.
Information:
SNOWDROP JTBC upcoming drama starring Blackpink Jisoo and Jung Hae-In has become the new target of Knetz to abolish this drama and accusing due historical distortion.
On March 26th JTBC has released their official statement that Snowdrop is never a drama that disgraces the democratic movement and glorifies the Ministry of the Security and spies. JTBC asks to stop with reckless criticism of unreleased drama. Since then, the hate for Snowdrop, Jisoo, Jung Hae In and other casts are growing and never ending. Knetz are doing mass campaign to boycott this drama.
We believe that this is so unfair to the cast and production who has worked for 5 months non-stop when the drama has no exact broadcast date yet. We also want the attention of global streaming, Netflix to purchase the right for Snowdrop so that international fans can watch through this platform.
Please sign this petition, give support to Snowdrop, Jisoo, Jung Haein and the rest of production team. We hope that we can watch this drama in 2nd half of 2021.
Thank you.
