We want Netflix to do Stephen King's "The Dark Tower"

The Issue

With more and more information coming on the upcoming move adaptation of Stephen Kings epic book series "The Dark Tower", it seems it most likely won't stay to true to the originals - story or even character-wise. We've allready told it will start in the middle of the story, and let's be honest: they're not gonna be able to fit 4000+ pages in a movie (or trilogy or what it'll end up as). It seems the movie will be a compressed blockbuster VERSION of the story, and to many of us: that just won't do. So how about this: Let the movies be made, and follow their own path (after all, there are other worlds than this) and let us have another adaptation: a series. It doesn't have to have the fast pasing, action packed quality like a epic fantasy blockbuster might be excpected to have. Instead, it can more closely follow the books, from the beginning (The Gunslnger), and doesn't have a crazy budget to pull through. I mean, read the first book: it can be done on a modest budget. They could make a season per book (and for the later parts, maybe two seasons per book); that would mean that the two first season wouldn't crave too much action and cgi, and instead focus on the characters, story and atmosphere. And you won't need firmiliar actors - just give us good ones. Give us actors that more closely fit the very vivid descriptions of Stephen King himself. Time and time again, Roland Deschain (the main character) is described as a replica of Clint Eastwood and for many of us die hard fans, that's something that can't and shouldn't be changed. If the movie takes another direction, that's fine - but give us THIS version instead. Everyone's happy! :)
