Produce a Documentary Series Filmed in an Eating Disorder Treatment Center Unit

I was diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa at the age of fifteen. I have since been in an out of treatment three times. I was inpatient at an eating disorder treatment center three times. My personal experience suffering from an eating disorder has inspired me to want to work to help people dealing with eating disorders in my career. I am currently enrolled as a student at Louisiana State University and majoring in psychology. Mental Illness is rarely ever shown in film and TV. When it is, it is is often inaccurate and exaggerated. Even less represented in the media are the experience of those with eating disorders. Believe me, I have seen every film, documentary and TV show that is about eating disorders or has a character who deals with it. I want to see a documentary about those in treatment for eating disorders that is raw and hopeful. I have seen an HBO documentary called Thin, however this movie is not satisfactory because it does not show the recovery of the women it focuses on in the movie. I want to see the trials and triumphs of women and MEN in a treatment center. I think Netflix's popularity will help this documentary/ "docuseries" reach more eyes and provide more education and understanding. I wish that those who have experienced this intensive treatment can have those around them understand what they went through and the difficulty, but hope that comes with treatment for an eating disorder. Most of all, that recovery is hard, but possible.
