Chris Lilley is known to have played several racially offensive characters, including blackface, and this time he is in brownface with his show Jonah From Tonga. This is blatantly racist and frankly puts Netflix in bad light. 

We are calling for Netflix to distance themselves from this abhorrent man and his shows. To boot, they have terrible ratings. Even more reason for Netflix to drop this liability.

• "Jonah from Tonga is an Australian 6-part 'mockumentary' so brimming with a peculiar sort of deep Australian racism that's hard to even know where to start."
• "And the thing is, get this, this racist teenaged pastiche is being played by Chris Lilley, a 39-year-old white guy, in a permed wig and brownface. Yes, brownface. In 2014. Really."
• "I thought the days of minstrel shows were over."
• "Just as a bonus, the show also introduces a new slur that will make life hell for redheads. In the show redheads are violently bullied for being "rangas" (for orangutans)."

The Polynesian community have themselves deemed the show to be racist. 

As the Guardian puts it "Jonah from Tonga feels less like a witty satire confronting racist stereotypes, and more like a coded way of reinforcing them."
