Why this petition matters

On my block has been a great show that has highlighted cultural diversity, real world teen situations and what street life in cities like Los Angeles. The conclusion of season 4 ends with too many questions! Fans demand a season 5, or at least a movie with the original characters! Fans are desperate to see and know how our beloved Core More end up as adults. Why can’t fans see the journey after high school?

The possibilities of what the characters could explore after high school are endless! With amazing writers, and a shift in the shows formatting to reflect a more sexy, adult-like comedy drama! The audience could see the characters face new experiences, challenges, resolutions, love interests and different character growth. It would be amazing to see the characters that we already love and know so well, transition their lives as young adults. Some questions that could be answered in a season 5 could be:

What happened to the roller world money? Will there be a new hunt for the money while juggling college and a working life? Will new love interests come into play creating new triangles? Will Monse/Cesar and Ruby/Jasmin make their ways back to each other or realize that they are better off as friends? Will all the characters find their life purpose – like Jamal?

Fans of The Fosters, which airs on freeform saw the transition of the characters Callie and Marianna from high school dramas to adult drama in Good Trouble. Netflix you can have similar success with On My Block, as the fan base and ratings are terrific too!

Also, take a look at shows like Manifest that were able to return after cancellation to give fans what they want, need and conclude the plot. We deserve a chance to see what could be in a fully adult world. If done right, this could run another 4 seasons! Please don’t let season 4 be the end of the series!
