After the release of the final season of Atypical, many fans have been left wanting to see more of Casey and Izzie, two best friends who became love interests. It is extremely clear to see their romance will blossom into something beautiful in the future.
The Cazzie relationship was still in the fairly early stages when the season finished and left on an undeniable cliffhanger after the girls met with a UCLA scout but were both yet to hear back in regards to their application to the college.
It is fair to say that there are likely thousands of Atypical fans who would absolutely love to see what is next for Casey and Izzie, how they would adapt to college life, possibly living together, Casey rekindling her love of competitive track, and Izzie finally gaining independence away from her family life and learning more about herself.
Offscreen, I don’t think I have ever seen the chemistry between actors quite like that of Brigette Lundy-Paine and Fivel Stewart. Their onscreen chemistry is incredible and has been the reason for many to watch the show, there’s no doubt that putting them centre stage would attract so many more fans.
Casey and Izzie have been a huge influence in terms of on-screen LGBTQ+ representation, and have helped so many young queer individuals to feel seen. I can only imagine what this pairing could do for LGBTQ+ youth in the future if they were to be explored further.
