Our society is filled with people who cannot abide anything they feel opposes their world view. Everything has become offensive to one group or another. While I don't agree with many premises that television shows and movies are based upon, my personal views do not mean these outlets should not exist. In today's "everyone gets a trophy" mindset we tread a dangerous path, we aren't teaching our children how to deal with difficult situations, rather we are showing them that if they don't like something that if they can complain and cry loud and long enough the offensive scary thing won't exist at all . That is no lesson that will help them into adulthood. The world does not exist to accommodate your sensibilities, there are situations and people who you won't like and won't agree with and all the whining in the universe will not change that. If you do not like or agree with a television program or a movie the answer is simple - don't watch it! I can't stand a wide swath of programming that is broadcast today, I figured out a long time ago that I can simply change the channel to something I do like. People need to get off their high horses and stop trying to shape the world into a nerf ball because their feelings are hurt. Life is hard and giving our children blinders to this fact is doing them a great disservice.
