Dear Netflix: We do not want Prank Encounters

Dear Netflix: We do not want Prank Encounters
The Issue
Eight episodes are set to be aired later this year of Netflix's new show, Prank Encounters. According to Netflix, "Each episode of this terrifying and hilarious prank show takes two complete strangers who each think they're starting their first day at a new job. It's business as usual until their paths collide and these part-time jobs turn into full-time nightmares". The concept of this show is appaling. It seems to take advantage of unemployed people, giving them hope that they have have been accepted for a job, when in reality they are just being pranked for the viewing pleasure of thousands at home. I'd be amiss if I didn't point out the scary (and very real) connection between unemployment and suicide; it's not something to joke around about. There might not be malice intent of those working on the show. More likely, the producers have not experienced the hardships surrounding unemployment or poverty and don't understand the concequence of their actions. Many people have already agreed to boycott the show, others have even said they would cancel their Netflix membership if the show ever airs. The extent to which you should your distast is completely up to you, but please consider signing this petition to let Netflix know, WE DO NOT WANT PRANK ENCOUNTERS. This is the information that I have so far. If any changes or additions need to be made, I will do so.
This show takes pranking too far, and we will not stand for it.
Who's involved in the show:
Executive Producers: Gaten Matarazzo; Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, and Kevin Healey for Propagate; Rob Hyde
Director: Anthony Gonzalez
Production Company: Propagate
