Nestle is planning on bottling over 1 million gallons of water per day from the natural springs located at Ginnie Springs in northern Florida. The removal of this much water per day will devastate and disrupt the natural ecosystem there, not to mention it will deplete the drinking water supply for the natural residents in Florida.

Right now, Nestle has a proposed water bottling plant that draws from the Ginnie Springs area. The plan depends on the renewal of the expired water permit owner, Seven Springs Water. The Suwannee River Water Management district is reviewing, and has the authority, to renew the expired water permit held by Seven Springs.

The permit renewal request must be denied because the springs are deemed as "in recovery" and need be restored. Today, the river and springs are continually declining in flow due to over-pumping.  Increasing the extraction will only make it worse. If the permit is approved and Nestle is able to extract even more water, it is the taxpayers who will be funding the replenishment of the water and allowing Nestle to take it out and sell it back to the consumer. 

We need to stop Nestle from bottling water from these beautiful natural springs in Florida!
