Background

The deforestation of the worlds forest had been around since about the 1950's. People tend to say that this issue doesn't effect them but in reality it effects the world. The loss of trees is killing the world because the level of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere is at an all time high and that is tied to Global Warming. There is only 30% of the worlds original forests left and pieces the size of Panama are lost each year ( National Geographic). 

Why Does it Matter?

I started this petition because of school. I am a junior in high school and in my world issues class we started a project where we had to pick an issue and make an action plan. I picked Deforestation and I thought a petition to a large company would be most effective. My petition to Nestlé would make a difference because they are known for their involvement in the deforestion of the Amazon. We could potentially stop their involvement.
