Nepal Government: Rs 15,000 is Not Enough! Increase Support for Flood Victims From the    Rs 15 Arab Fund

📌 The Situation
Following the devastating Bhote Koshi-Trishuli river floods, generous individuals, organizations, and global donors poured nearly Rs 15 Arab (NPR 14.889 Billion) into the government's disaster relief accounts. The resources to provide meaningful help are sitting right there.
Yet, the government's announced relief package offers just Rs 15,000 per month for a family of four (and a mere Rs 2,000 more for larger families) for up to 6 months.

⚠️ Why This Fails the Victims
In today's economy, Rs 15,000 is completely unrealistic. It hardly scratches the surface of renting a safe space in Nepal, let alone covering the daily costs of food, clothing, clean water, medical expenses, and rebuilding a life from scratch. This tiny stipend forces displaced families into prolonged hardship and will severely stall the rebuilding process of our communities.
We are not asking for the entire Rs 15 Arab to be handed out blindly. We recognize that roads, bridges, and local infrastructure must eventually be repaired. However, empowering people must be the first priority.Broken and struggling citizens cannot rebuild a nation. If we provide families with enough direct financial support to truly get back on their feet, they will become the foundation that restores their hometowns. Infrastructure should support the people, not starve them of immediate aid.

📈 Our Demands :
We call upon the Government of Nepal to:

1. Direct the Funds to the Victims: Ensure that the aid money collected explicitly in the name of the flood victims goes directly to the flood victims themselves.

2. Substantially Increase the Monthly Allowance: Raise the cash support to a realistic amount that matches the actual cost of living and renting in Nepal today.

3.Prioritize Immediate Human Rehabilitation: Ensure that a significant and sufficient portion of the accumulated Rs 15 Arab fund is used to directly safeguard the livelihoods of victims in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha before focusing entirely on heavy construction projects.
