Please cancel your Indianapolis concert!

Please cancel your Indianapolis concert!
Why this petition matters
Dear Mr. Diamond,
We've loved your music for decades. Grown up with it. Sang along with it. Learned from it. Grew with it.
Now, we're asking you to stand up for the main value your music speaks to: love.
You see, you're scheduled to perform a concert in Indianapolis on April 17. And Indiana just passed legislation offering legal protection to businesses who discriminate against gays. In other words: in Indiana it's now legal to discriminate against someone because of whom he or she loves. (And some businesses have already started doing just that.)
We think that's horrible, and a violation of everything your music is about: not just love, but compassion and empathy for the underdog. And so we're asking you to cancel your Indianapolis concert in protest.
We know this will seriously inconvenience you and others. It will also disappoint your Indiana fans, many of whom we're sure are good people who would never discriminate. (We think they'd understand!)
On the plus side, you would join these cool musicians and others. And, also, this:
Every once in a while, a person, because of his situation, talents, and prominence, has the opportunity to make a unique contribution, and to help nudge history in the right direction. Right now, Mr. Diamond, that person is you.
Please take that opportunity.
