Hey everyone! Santa Monica College's student government, as well as our local school district, and many student volunteers have been working very hard to get Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson to visit SMC and our local community as a guest speaker.

Dr. Tyson is a renowned astrophysicist, prolific author, and current Director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York City. Following in the footsteps of his mentor, Dr. Carl Sagan, Dr. Tyson is also the current host of COSMOS: A Spacetime Odyssey.

A visit by Dr. Tyson to our school and community would be invaluable. We have learned that booking him is a real possibility, but we need to demonstrate that he will have a large and eager audience waiting for him here to make the trip worth his time.
