Neil Construction Ltd (an overseas owned company) has recently purchased commercial land right next to the Whenuapai Air Base with the intention of turning it into housing. They have had the zoning changed (simply to increase the value of the land) and have taken the Air Force to the environment court to get them to reduce noise (and won the first ruling). 

This is a disgraceful hijacking of the law to suit their own greedy purposes rather than supporting the main existing user of the area - The RNZAF who have been operating there for many decades! Our community is proud to be home to the base and don’t want to see the area ruined by a greedy developer who clearly doesn’t give a damn about the local community or NZ as a whole. 

1) The Environment Court needs to reverse its decision.

2) The MoD needs to squash this as a National Security Interests matter.

3) The community needs to stand up to Neil Construction Ltd

4) The Council needs to block Neil Construction Ltd from developing the land.
