Mandatory minimums and no parole for violent crimes that was one bad decision due to lack of resources ruins the family and community. People age out of violent patriarchal criminal behavior and if they aren’t desperate to survive they won’t resort to alternative methods to cope. Teach a man to fish and give them a spot at the lake to fish peacefully without judgement nor racial slurs.

We need risk reduction, we need restorative justice, we need investment in our education, affordable childcare/afterschool/camps. PAL is great but the officers use it in Waterbury CT for their children so they can work their shifts and not pay a babysitter. Don’t the rest of the community deserve the same opportunities as these officers?!
