We demand justice and a proper investigation for Lauren Smith Fields unfortunate death. We demand a reassessment of the ruling that her death was an accident. Because the ruling of her death was deemed an accident, Matthew LaFountain is not being investigated or charged. It is injudicious that LaFountain is named a “nice guy” by the police, despite being the last person to see Lauren Smith Fields alive. We demand justice for Lauren Smith Fields and her family who has to grieve Lauren’s death and continuously wonder what has happened to their loved one. Based on the article, “Bridgeport Police, DEA Begin Criminal Investigation Into Death of 23-Year-Old Lauren Smith-Fields” from www.nbcConnecticut.com the family stated that the detective’s answer to them was to, "…stop calling him and hung up in [their] face, it was just like total disrespect, like that's what you tell a family that's going through grief and trying to find answers?" The response of the detective was appalling and disrespectful to Lauren Smith Fields’ family. The Fields family and the rest of country are desperately trying to solve the case of Lauren’s death. The behavior of the Bridgeport police is unacceptable and the family, friends, and close ones deserve answers to what has happened to Lauren Smith Fields.
