A proposed amendment to Nebraska's state constitution (LR378CA), if passed, may legitimize widespread abuse of farm and domestic animals, including the legalization of puppy mills!  

        The amendment, introduced by State Senator Kuehn, is alleged to protect the rights of Nebraskan's farming practices.  However LR378CA is so vague it will cause unintended consequences like protecting puppy mills and cruel treatment of farm and ranch animals. 

      I am a Nebraskan that cares about farming and ranching in our state.  This resolution is not supported by two major Nebraska farming organizations, The Nebraska Farm Bureau and The Nebraska Farmers Union.  The amendment seems to be an overreaction to perceive threats of activists outside the state.

       Existing laws already protect animal welfare in the state.  This amendment will override these laws and lead to more puppy mills, farm animal abuse, and could lead to legal challenges and lawsuits over the constitutionality of the law.

       I love dogs and this amendment might prevent dogs from getting a second chance at life if they are stuck in a puppy mill.  Please sign my petition to help stop LR378CA "The Right to Farm" in Nebraska.
