Parking at the university is a total nightmare. Half of the time the parking lot is full! Students will resort to parking illegally or parking in other apartments or businesses. For students, its such a hassle. It honestly wouldn't be that bad except for the fact that a general parking pass is $250 annually, and that doesn't even guarantee a student a spot. We're all a bunch of broke adults trying to save a little cash while trying to pay for our $30,000+ education. Roughly 37,000 students attend classes at the university, and if only half purchase a $250 parking pass, that is a yearly cost of  $4,625,000. That is a massive amount of money. According to UNT's parking page on their website (http://transportation.unt.edu/parking): 

 "the program operates through permits, fines, and fees generated by students, faculty/staff, and visitors who choose to park on campus"

If the parking at the school was actually decent, had 24/7 Camera surveillance, inside with controlled air conditioning and there 15 security guards driving around on hover boards wearing Gucci slides, I'd see why $4,625,000 was necessary.  But just to park is ridiculous. So lets put an end to overpriced parking with mediocre results. Sign this petition and let the University of North Texas that its parking sucks, and so does the cost of it.
