NCC for 2023: Preserve and Build NCC for the Future

The Issue

As NCC's 2023 budget was approved by the Nassau County legislature on June 27 withOUT an increase in operating funds, we now request a Supplementary Budget for the 2023 year with funds dedicated to:

  • Expand academic programming
  • Serve more residents
  • Waive student application fees, hire more admissions officers, and lower tuition
  • Enrich Nassau County and invest in its future: $1 invested in SUNY Nassau returns $5 to $8 to the community in workers' higher earnings and the community's economic growth

Please sign the Petition!  (Note, no donation is required; optional change.org donations go to change.org.)

No increases for 15 years from Nassau County for operational expenses, along with more than a decade of defunding from New York State, has led to faculty cuts, decreased academic programs and student services, and rising tuition for students at NCC.

With your support, NCC can hire full-time faculty to meet student demand in areas such as nursing, allied health sciences, and theater.  With your support, NCC can expand programs in emerging and high-tech fields such as its cyber security, computer programming, and medical technology programs. With your help, NCC can lower student costs and increase enrollment, serving more students.
