We the Jackson County residents, believe that the Civil war monument, residing in front of our historical court house, should be left alone. 

This is about history and not repeating the past. We must acknowledge the Civil War and we must acknowledge both sides to that war. Tearing this historical monument down will only divide us more. We love this town and we shouldn't want to destroy apart of us or this great nation. We are all free men and women and it has to do with all the men, women, and in some cases (The Civil War, The Revolutionary War, etc) children. 

I for one am proud to be a Confederate, I'm proud to be an American, and I'm proud to live in this community. All of us should be so proud of this area, and the people. So let's not destroy a part of this beautiful areas past, let's instead come together as a community and show that we are proud of our past, proud of the people that died for us and proud to have a monument dedicated to just that.. 

Signing this and coming together on this issue will show the world how proud we are and this is how every American should be, embrace American History.
