We have made some really good headway. I have emailed every single NC Senator and lots of House of Reps and at least know what needs to be done to change this. Currently, the law is written such that the nursing home immunity will stay in place as long as we are in a state of emergency. At this point, everyone in office seems to agree that Governor Roy Cooper has no intention on dropping that anytime soon. That makes this harder but certainly not impossible. The legislative analysis department for the House of Reps has said that if I want this changed it's a matter of enacting an amendment. I have contacted a Representative on the health committee and he has agreed to help us get a bill on the table for the short session in May 2022. This is really good progress and we are hopeful that we can get in front of the voters very soon to end the immunity law currently in place! Keep getting those signatures. Our voices need to be heard!
