Invite Colin Kaepernick to host NBC's 'Saturday Night Live'

Invite Colin Kaepernick to host NBC's 'Saturday Night Live'
The Issue
Colin Kaepernick, an NFL quarterback, has become the most prominent athlete since Muhammad Ali to bring the issue of racial injustice to the hearts and minds of the American people. Because of his efforts, he has lost his profession- even after displaying enormous athletic prowess at the highest levels of American sports.
Kaepernick’s activism was as important as it was mild. He simply kneeled during the American anthem to draw attention to the systemic murder of African-Americans at the hands of the police. For these modest yet courageous transgressions, he has been banished from the sport he has played, loved, and excelled at since his earliest age.
Much like Ali, he has been blackballed; he has been ridiculed; he has been mocked and dismissed as an instigator. Unlike Ali, however, he has not achieved a deserved second-act of praise for taking a difficult stand to make America a better place.
By hosting “Saturday Night Live”, America could see one of our premier athletes in a different light. Highlighting his humor and humanity, our country could finally reconcile this man, Colin Kaepernick, with the mission he bravely stands for- that Black people in America matter, too.
Please sign this petition to ask NBC, Lorne Michaels, and "Saturday Night Live” to invite Mr. Kaepernick to host an upcoming episode of America’s longest-running comedy television show- a program that highlights our nation’s ills with humor and a sense of goodwill for our country.
