As we all know, Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization announced his bid for presidency a few weeks ago. During his announcement, he made statements about illegal immigration. Those statements offended many Latinos living in the United States and around the world. In turn, Univision decided to drop the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants from their broadcast. On June 29th, news broke that NBC has decided to drop Miss USA 2015 from their broadcast schedule. I and many other pageant fans feel this is not fair to the 51 women who have arrived in Baton Rouge to compete for the title on July 12th. These women have worked very hard to have their moment on the Miss USA stage and have been dreaming of this for years. I am sure it is devastating for the contestants that their friends and family will not be able to see them compete! These women have spent countless amount of time and money preparing for the pageant.

Please NBC, reconsider broadcasting the pageant on July 12th. These women deserve the recognition for all of the hard work they put in throughout their year long reigns.
