During Monday night’s game between the Nets and Blazers, Jusuf Nurkic went down with a horrific leg injury. What NBA official did immediately after was cruel and/or negligent. 

As Nurkic laid down on the floor with an obvious leg injury, NBA official Tyler Ford carelessly walked over Nurkic’s leg and made contact with his foot. It was immediately clear that Nurkic had suffered a serious injury, so there really wasn’t an excuse for Ford to be walking anywhere near the injured leg.

The injury was so bad that players from both teams were running away screaming in horror. 

NBA officials are trained on how to react in the case of a serious injury, and you can bet that walking over the injured player was not part of that protocol. Even if Ford had no intent to make contact with Nurkic, his recklessness has NBA fans calling for the league to take action against Ford.

He shouldn’t have been anywhere near the injured player.

This sort of cruelty and/or negligence has no place in the NBA and Tyler Ford needs to be publicly dealt with. We ask that he is stripped of his whistle and banned from ever officiating another NBA game.
