We, as enrolled members of the Navajo Nation, in signing this petition, hereby exercise our First Amendment Right, in petitioning our Federal Government, requesting the Department of Interior Secretary to intervene in the following matter:  The Navajo Nation is in the process of removing our Navajo Nation Controller, which puts our Navajo Nation in jeopardy of fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities. Ms. Pearline Kirk, our current NN Controller, is highly qualified as a CPA, a Lawyer with the AZ and NN Bar Associations, and has exemplified integrity, accountability, and transparency, in her position.  With the incoming ARPA billions, we are very weary and do not trust our Navajo Nation Government in fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities with accountability and transparency without Ms. Kirk; therefore, we plead with the Secretary of Interior, Deb Haaland, to intervene with the Navajo Nation to allow Ms. Kirk to continue her job as our NN Controller without any threat of removal. We also request that the BIA have increased oversight management of the P.L. 93-638 Contracts with all ARPA funds the Navajo Nation receives. T'aa'iiyisii Ahe'hee' (Thank you very much).
