Natural England’s Approach Risks the Extinction of Dartmoor Hill Ponies!

The Issue

The current plan, if implemented, will drive the Dartmoor Hill Pony herds towards extinction.

This is not a theoretical risk it is a foreseeable outcome of removing the very grazing system that sustains both the ponies and the habitats they maintain.

Without clear evidence that reducing semi-wild grazing will improve SSSI conditions, this approach could accelerate the decline of one of England’s last semi-wild equine populations. This must be urgently reviewed.

Save an irreplaceable part of Dartmoor’s identity.  Sign the petition , get others to join the Dartmoor Warriors and help the ponies deliver the petition on 2nd September to 10 Downing Street.
