Native Americans Living Off Reservations Are Being Denied Equal HealthcareThis Must Change

The Issue

Native Americans living off reservations and settlements are facing serious barriers to accessing healthcare—barriers that many people don’t even realize exist.

When individuals live outside reservation boundaries, they often lose access to essential services, support systems, and culturally competent care. This creates dangerous gaps in treatment, delays in care, and unequal health outcomes.

Healthcare should not depend on where someone lives. No one should be forced to choose between opportunity and access to careI would like the gap bridged between IHS and regular healthcare facilities so that all Federally Recognized Indians have equal access to healthcare including dental off of tribal and settlement lands
