Heading: The reduction of traffic congestion

Traveling to and from Spanish Town has become and all day affair due to the new highway being built in Ferry Pen, along Mandela Highway. The highway has drastically caused an increase in the traffic, causing persons to be late for school, work and other business matters. It has also affected persons in such a way that they have to be waking as early as 4:00 am to get to their destinations on time and will still arrive late. This result in the lost of productivity hours at school and also work. Persons become tired just from traveling.  Children also leave school from as early as 3:00 pm and are not getting home until 7:00-8:00 pm due to the high build up of traffic starting from as far as Kingston. To avoid traffic congestion, public transportation have to redirect to a different route which put them at risk of having their vehicles seized or being ticketed by transportation authorities and police who are often not in communication with road work personnel.

To minimize the traffic condition in the St. Andrew area, mainly Ferry Pen, the National Work Agency (NWA) can have lights that gives off a day effect and have workers working at nights and also to have work done over the weekend when less persons are travelling.
