The Washington Spirit has served the greater DC metropolitan area as an estuary of community and strength for hundreds of thousands of fervent fans from all walks of life.

Since it’s inception, the collection of diverse people that make up the team’s roster, staff, and fan base have all typified the true meaning of strength, empowerment, and dignity. Moreover, they have helped instill a sense of equality and openness in the greater community around them.

Unfortunately, as has been the case too many times around the country, the safety, well being, and inherent human value of these individuals has been neglected and put in danger by those who control the means to see such actions mute.

It is with that in mind that we present this goal to the Washington Spirit community: To see these individuals are paid fairly; to see these individuals are treated with dignity and respect; to see these individuals are given every tool they need to succeed; we, the fans, should own the means ourselves.

Our goal is to garner enough interest and assemble enough shareholders to purchase a majority stake in the Washington Spirit to make it the first publicly owned NWSL team.
