Help us to save deer at Ashridge Hertfordshire

Help us to save deer at Ashridge Hertfordshire
The Issue
This petition is to request National Trust Ashridge to apply the 5 steps below to their 2019/2020 Deer Management programme.
1. Zero fawns to be culled.
2. The overall cull must not exceed 300 adult deer (max)
3. ALL culling to finish by 31st Dec 2019.
4. No shooting after dark within half a mile of ANY road.
5. No shooting at weekends.
After 4 years of "reduction" culling the deer herds are wrecked and no longer visible on the Estate as they have been driven off the Estate and have become nocturnal. This is not natural behaviour: it is the behaviour of predated animals.
For hundreds of years, deer have roamed Ashridge Estate to the delight of visitors and bringing beauty to the woods and commons.
The quad bike riding culling team employed on the National Trusts Deer Management programme are on the Estate for 5 months out of the year. This traumatises the deer.
We request that NO MORE FAWNS ARE KILLED.
The deer naturally protect their young. When they can no longer do this, due to the onslaught of commercial industrial-scale culling, the herds disintegrate.
We also request the cull number is halved. 600 lives have been taken for the past 4 years. It's too many. We ask the cull is reduced as a starting point towards using non-lethal methods.
