Multiple Sclerosis patients want to know about HSCT

My name is Heather I'm a 26 year old mother with two young children. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in March of 2011. After failing three disease modifying drugs to hopefully slow down my disease activity my disabilities progressed. I have lost a lot of function in my right leg and hand amongst other MS symptoms. Out of fear of my children's futures with a sick mom to raise them I started a search for anything that could help. I found The Division of immunotherapy and AutoImmune Diseases in Chicago Illinois, lead by a doctor who has been performing Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for many years with auto immune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, CIDP, RA, and many other diseases. HSCT has proven to halt the progression of these horribly disabling diseases. In a nut shell this treatment wipes out your immune system and your own stem cells are used to reboot the immune system. The research is there but we aren't hearing about it. Why? I found out about this life changing treatment through facebook! I am asking that the National Multiple Sclerosis Society please spread the information to many others that this treatment exists to allow autoimmune patients to do their own research on this highly respected course of treatment. We want to know about HSCT!
