The National Institutes of Health is ceasing its chimp program all together.  NIH Director Francis Collins said the remaining chimps will be sent to sanctuaries; however, it is critical that they fund primate retirement.  There are not enough sanctuaries in the United States for all the primates that could be retired; and we believe the NIH should start funding these sanctuaries.  These primates have spent their lives caged and used in medical research.  They deserve to spend their remaining days in a sanctuary.  Please let Francis Collins with the NIH know you are concerned about these primates and urge him to support sanctuaries with funding.
