Freedom of Information Act, New Milestone and My latest activities for the petition.

Well done all! we have achieved another milestone - 35,320 signatures. Thank you everyone for your hard work!

Freedom of Information Act

I have been reading about The Freedom of Information Act. I wonder if it would be a good step forward if I were to request the evidence used in the Chronic Pain NICE guidelines. NICE mentions the evidence frequently within the guidelines, yet there is no reference to the research studies. If we were provided with the evidence, we would need to do an independent review of the evidence.

Therefore, I would need advice and help with the following:

  1. Access to an academic online library or similar. Or someone who was able to obtain the journals/research studies.
  2. Finding someone who is an independent peer review consultant or similar.
  3. If they require payment, we will need to fundraise or join together to pay the bill.

Please let me know what you think.

My Latest Activities Regarding the Petition.

I have attended a webinar this evening that was based on the NICE guidelines changes. I will also be attending several more over the next month on the guidelines, chronic pain pharmacological and advocacy.      I am also reading books on how other people have made changes to policies and laws through advocacy etc. In addition, I am networking within the chronic illness community and sharing the petition/social media campaign.

How is everyone getting on with the Social Media Campaign? if you would like to know more about this, please see earlier petition posts.
