Good evening everyone,

I hope you are all well. I am in the process of catching up on messages, comments and paperwork in relation to the petition. I have had quite a few negative comments saying I have misspelt words or I haven't done A, B or C as they would have done. I do have Dyslexia as well as other health problems, and I am sincerely trying my best. Nevertheless, I will continue to improve and learn as I go.

On a positive note, to those who have provided me with supportive comments, messages and great ideas. I am grateful, It really does help! In addition, we have now reached 33,602 signatures and Change.org have Informed me that the petition will become one of the top signed on their platform when we reach 35,000! Well done everyone!!

Patrick has kindly informed me that It would be a good idea if I provided a template for people to use to write/email to their MP with. Patrick has also provided me with an example and I will be working on a guideline within the next few days. Thank you Patrick.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where is this Petition being sent to? UK Parliament, NICE main office and NICE Chronic pain. It is sent on a regular basis.
  • Do you believe only medication can help manage chronic pain? No, I am not saying that. We are all individuals. This petition is about enabling everyone who suffers from chronic pain to have that choice if they need medication or the other treatments that have been removed from the guidelines.
  • NICE state that health and medical professionals don't have to follow the guidelines, so I will be ok then?  If a health or medical professional does not follow the NICE guidelines, they are at risk of being sued. That does not mean this happens every time, but as I am sure you can imagine health and medical professional would be less inclined to not follow the guidelines.
  • Where can I find the official link from NICE with the latest guidelines for chronic pain?  Chronic pain (primary and secondary) in over 16s: assessment of all chronic pain and management of chronic primary pain - https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/NG193
