On behalf of the 30,469 petitioners; we are disappointed and distressed. We feel that our voices are not being heard and our distress is being ignored.
We submitted our comments etc prior to the deadline, that is not the issue.
The issue is that there are thousands of chronic pain patients that are full of anxiety and distress due to these cruel proposed changes.
Yet, it has been delayed and the emails we are receiving do not appear to take into consideration how much upset this is causing to so many people.

Thank you for your follow up email relating to our developing guideline on Chronic pain: assessment and management
I appreciate that this is a very important issue for you and your petitioners however, we are carefully assessing our planned publications in the context of the ongoing pandemic. Accordingly, we have decided to delay the publication of this guideline. We will proceed to publication as soon as it is appropriate. Additionally, we are working with NHS England to support the implementation of the guideline when it is published.
The consultation for the draft guidelines has closed and all comments have been received and our recommendations will be published in April, so unfortunately there isn't another opportunity to comment further.
I realise that this will not be the response that you were hoping for, but I hope I have helped to clarify NICE’s position.

I understand from your website that the proposed deadline has been delayed to the 7th April ( Chronic pain: assessment and management)
On behalf of myself and my petitioners. This greatly concerns us and puts us in further distress. We have been put in distress since these proposed plans were announced and now we are kept on tender hooks.
The petition is now on 30, 236 signatures. Which is against all the proposed changes.
