IRCT once again condemns the grave news coming from our Indian centres during Covid-19 - this time in Uttar Pradesh. Our member centre People's Vigilance Committee on Human Rights (PVCHR) reports that Mr Mangla Prasad Rajbhar, a social activist and human rights defender for the marginalised Musahar in Uttar Pradesh has been falsely implicated in criminal charges relating to a violent dispute between two communities over food distribution.
All harassment and reprisals against Mr Rajbhar and other human rights activists in Uttar Pradesh must end immediately so they can continue their legitimate and vital defense of human rights.
