We’re seeking your help on behalf of our friends in West Yorkshire as part of their ongoing efforts to secure Queensbury Tunnel for future use.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority has the opportunity to recognise the strategic value of this 1.4-mile long passageway by listing it as an important infrastructure asset within its Local Transport Plan. This would strengthen campaigners’ hands in resisting the tunnel’s abandonment - the outcome favoured by National Highways and the Department for Transport.

The draft Plan identifies the intention to link west Bradford with Halifax for active travel - for which the only safe and attractive option passes through the tunnel - as well as the possibility of a future extension of the West Yorkshire Mass Transit network into Calderdale.

We are therefore asking you to write to Tracy Brabin, West Yorkshire’s Mayor, with a short response to the Plan’s ongoing public consultation, a process which is open for another week or so. The more people who raise the issue, the harder it is to ignore.

There’s an easy way to make your views known, via this link…

It should only take about one minute.

We greatly appreciate your continued support.
