Bhavnagar is a district with lot's of potential of development. Agriculture, Wind & Solar Power generation etc . There's lot's of possibilities.  

Bhavnagar has great heritage of Maharaja KrushnaKumarSinh Ji - a great administrator & first governor of Madras after freedom.  Bhavnagar was the first state to join union of Republic of India (following British divided India in 1947) ..

Bhavnagar has history of higher education more than 125 years ...!

Yet Bhavnagar's development is never taken care of. Bhavnagar has always voted for BJP candidate but yet no political influence created. 

Kalpsar:

As Saurastra is at higher elevation, Narmada water isn't available for agriculture.  Kalpsar can give a natural water resources at higher elevation and thereby entire Saurastra region  agriculture can be benefited.  

World's best quality Bhalia Wheat and many grains & pulses production can be increased.  Much more land can be cultivated to agriculture land. Kalpsar can also reduce Saurastra Region connectivity with South Gujarat & Bombay. This can save tremendous amount of petroleum and time. 

Since decades nothing concrete  done about Kalpsar. 

Highway Connectivity:

Another but most important part is highway infrastructure. Just one connecting road of coastal highway between Bhavnagar & Ahmedabad is in poor shape. 

Bhavnagar almost immediately need 6 Lane Express Highway with "Y" Shape to Ahmedabad & Vadodara.
