The contact tracing technology being developed by NHSx is incapable of competing with the likes of Apple and Google when it comes to quality, privacy and security.

The NHS have only been forced to upgrade to Windows 10 this year because of Windows 7 going out of support. The NHSx app is more likely to drain your phone's battery and be less reliable. Also, using different underlying data means the NHSx app won't be interoperable with everyone else using the Apple-Google system.

As well as the reliability issues, storing all of our data on a centralised server rather than using distributed anonymous keys is far more likely to be hacked and abused and potentially violate our privacy, if not unintentionally by third parties then possibly by our own government if they find other uses for the tracking data.

We should be working together as a planet to combat this virus, and the current British attitude of going it alone is not working and needs to be halted immediately.
